Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department provides guidance on the substance of the statutes and regulations governing the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone. The services provided by Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department are as follows:
General
Provides legal and policy advice to Dubai and Technology & Media Free Zone Authority regarding analysis and interpretation of all Free Zone laws, decrees, decisions, regulations, circulars, contracts and agreements, the rights and obligations of the Free Zone Business Partners, stakeholders and other matters relating to the Free Zone.
Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department analyzes, reviews, amends and interprets the Free Zone laws, decrees, decisions, regulations, policies, circulars, agreements, and other legislation to ensure that it is consistent with the Free Zone, Dubai and the UAE Federal constitutional framework and modern standards and practice.
It also takes an active role in developing new regulations and resolutions as well as the implementation of reforms.
Corporate Governance
Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department is also mandated to provide advice, legal support and counsel to senior management and DTMFZA departments on a broad range of corporate matters including corporate governance, employment regulations, transfers, amendments and acquisitions, contracts, litigation and claims
Define, develop, review and continually improve the functions, governance model and regulatory framework for DTMFZA and its business units
